The Christmas season is already in full blaze with Black Friday oozing into Thanksgiving afternoon, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday. With everything we have to do—Christmas shopping, house decorating, the infamous once-a-year catch-up-on-everything Christmas letter for family and friends that must be written before we can get the cards in the mail, cookie baking, fudge making, travel taking… SCREEEEE-E-E-ECH.  Hold on there. Can we please slow down just a bit?

Within all our busyness, does anybody else want to keep Christ in the center of Christmas? I know you do.

That’s one reason I wrote my new book, Prophecies Fulfilled in the Birth of Jesus. In 35 short chapters, short enough to be a devotional on a busy day, we can travel back in time and be awed once again at the fantastic story of the first Christmas.

Another reason I wrote this book is because I didn’t grow up knowing all the details of the Christian Christmas story. I knew some. I remember in the fourth grade for the big Christmas program at my (yes, public) school I had to memorize and recite Isaiah 9:6-7:

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this” (NIV).

But it wasn’t until I was an adult that I learned those words, which I was convinced were about Jesus, were written 700 years before He was born!

I know many people today are like I was. They haven’t had the opportunity to learn the amazing details of the Christmas story, let alone the fascinating facts of the many prophecies that predicted it.

Maybe you’ve known them from your childhood. Or maybe all these things are new to you. Either way, what if this year you reviewed the fascinating prophecies of the first Christmas?

Through this book you can travel back in time and discover the original prophecies written hundreds or thousands of years, or only months or moments, before they were fulfilled. Then travel forward in time to see them fulfilled in the birth of Jesus.

In Prophecies Fulfilled in the Birth of Jesus you’ll explore 35 prophecies including the Virgin Birth, the Star the Magi followed to find Jesus, the birthplace of Bethlehem, the angel’s message to the shepherds guarding the sheep that were intended for sacrifice in the Temple, what it meant for Mary and Joseph to “present” Jesus to the LORD, the prophetic words spoken by Simeon and Anna, and so much more.

In every chapter you’ll find:

˜  a “Key Verse” highlighting the prophecy

˜  Where in the Bible the prophecy is found

˜  Who originally wrote it

˜  When it was written, including the date if possible

˜  The context the prophecy was written in

˜  a “Prophecy Fulfilled Bible Reading” to read from your own Bible

˜  “Apply it to Your Life” questions

˜  a “Final Thought”

˜  a suggested “Prayer”

˜  “For more, read” Scripture verses on related topics

Discover the prophecies that predict, prove, and proclaim Jesus the Christ. Travel through time from the prophecies to the first Christmas and your future Christmases will never be the same.
